A pre-owned Alpha can get you on the air with genuine Alpha quality instead of picking a 'new', under rated amplifier.
There is a reason these amplifiers sell for higher prices than the ones you can find on the Internet. We actually invest time and money to make sure we can call it Alpha Pre-owned so they'll provide many years of service for their new owner. Here are steps we take before we sell it as a factory refurbished amplifier: 1. We review the case of the amplifier and rate it "EXCELLENT", "GOOD", or "WORN". An "EXCELLENT" rating means no damage to very small, very few paint scratches on the case, but none on the front panel. A "GOOD" rating means paint scratches can be seen on the case and front panel, but they're not terribly noticeable. A "WORN" means there are noticeable scratches on the front panel and/or the case. You can purchase a sheet metal upgrade, which includes a new front panel, and top cover free of any scratches, installed for $350. 2. We remove the top, vacuum out the amp and look at the overall condition and repair any issues we find. 3. We check the amp for all required current modifications. We add any of the missing factory modifications. 4. We upgrade the amp for the latest firmware (if applicable). 5. We test and align the amp on all bands, reset factory defaults and create a new performance test sheet. At this time we rate the tube condition. For Alpha refurbished, pre-owned amplifiers
